In July, the Chicago area branches of District Anna Hurban celebrated their annual Junior Branch summer event. This year the event went outdoors to the Monee Reservoir in Monee, IL for a day of fishing and fresh air.
Children were provided with fishing poles if needed and advice on how to snag their prized fish.
There were 25 attendees including members from branches J174, S258, J96, S46, J339, S287, S421, J382 and S485. Untimely weather was a big risk in taking the event outdoors, but the group was blessed with the perfect Saturday afternoon for fishing and playing. After some time spent fishing, guests were treated to a catered lunch of fried chicken, mostacciolli, corn and salad, followed by games for kids and adults alike.
Congratulations to Jessilyn Gibas for the biggest catch of the day!
