On Sunday, August 4, 2013, The FEST held its 13th Annual celebration. It is a one of a kind regional event sponsored by the Diocese of Cleveland and held on the grounds of the Center for Pastoral Leadership in Willowick, Ohio.
It is a FREE Family Festival for all ages. The Cleveland District sponsored a booth again this year. The FEST started in August of 2000, with just under 5,000 people in attendance. Thirteen years later, the event has grown tremendously, attracting an estimated 35,000 in 2013. (Word has it that Steve Hudak, FCSLA’s National Treasurer, and his family have been attending the FEST since it began. Terese Joyce, Junior Branch 14 Secretary, and her family also hold the record with the Hudak Family.)
The faithful followers of The FEST flock there to enjoy live national Christian bands, games, a kids area, food, giveaways from local vendors and opportunities for inspiring prayer. Even EWTN had a booth right around the corner from FCSLA.
The volunteers at the FCSLA booth had a perfect day to promote what FCSLA is all about. It was warm, sunny and not too hot (and no rain for a change). Thank you to Gianna Picciano for coordinating the volunteer work schedule and to all the FCSLA volunteers who set up, manned the booth and packed up the booth.
The FEST concluded with Mass on the stage and fireworks afterwards. What an AWESOME Day!
