Sr. Br. 77 (McKeesport, PA) Christmas Party and December meeting were held on Sunday, December 1, 2013, at the Palisades in McKeesport. All members in attendance received gifts from the home office. Hors d’oeuvres were served prior to the meeting. Music was provided before the meeting and during and after dinner by George Beatty and the International Gypsies.
President Jerry Holmes opened the meeting with prayer. The pledge of allegiance to the flag was led by Joseph Matta, World War II veteran. Roll call was taken and all officers were present, except for Virginia Holmes who was ill. The memorial candle was lit by Nick and Dorothy Ianatti and Rege McLaughlin and Carol Yurechko rang the gong as the names of all of our members who passed away this year were read. The minutes of the November meeting were read and approved. Our matching funds projects with Jamie’s Dream Team were discussed.
Auditors Carol Yurechko and Audrey Podlesny reported on this year’s audit; all is in order. Elections were held and officers were re-elected: Jerry Holmes, President; Irene Fedor, Vice President; Marian Greenland, Financial Secretary; Virginia Holmes, Treasurer; Judy Fedor, Recording/Junior Secretary; Audrey Podlesny, Auditor; Carol Yurechko, Auditor. The oath of office was administered by Judy Hornfeck and the meeting was closed with prayer.
A 50/50 Raffle benefiting the Greater Pittsburgh Food Bank took place. Following the meeting the members enjoyed dinner, drinks, music, dancing, and prize drawings.
