On Saturday, September 15, 2018, McKeesport Branch S077 participated in a matching funds event with the Kane Foundation. The event was the 7th Annual Joan Burns Kane Foundation “Fun walk 4 Kane”.
The Kane Foundation was created to raise private funds to help enhance the quality of life of the residents and their families. One hundred percent of all donations are devoted to gifts and enhancements for the Kane Centers and residents.
Officers of Branch S077 walked with residents, families and friends and assisted with wheelchairs. Following the walk, a picnic lunch was served and tickets were drawn for prizes. Tickets were available to purchase chances for a beautiful array of baskets. Entertainment was provided by a DJ and a magician who circulated among the crowd for everyone’s enjoyment. The residents of Kane and their families look forward to this walk every year. Branch S077 officers enjoy this event tremendously and were happy to participate in this annual event for such a wonderful cause that brings joy to so many.
