FCSLA Chicago District scholarship winners and their families were invited to join the branch officers and members of the district on June 15th for the annual scholarship luncheon. This annual event is conducted to recognize and honor the scholastic achievements of these outstanding students. Each scholarship winner is invited to come to the podium as their accomplishments are read to the group. They are presented with a scholarship certificate from the district, along with a white rose, an FCSLA portfolio and key ring, and invited to sign the FCSLA Chicago District scholarship book. After all the scholarship recipients were recognized, the group enjoyed a traditional Slavic luncheon, while they socialized with their branch officers and other guests. This year, Paul Smithers, National sales manager, and Jim Morsovillo, regional sales manager, joined the luncheon. Paul spoke to the group before lunch was served highlighting FCSLA’s product offerings and highlighting the new annuity product announced in June. Following lunch, there was a basket raffle, with baskets donated by branches S180, S225, S258, S287, S352 and S421. Proceeds from the raffle went to benefit Midwest Shelter for Homeless Veterans (MSHV), and the raffle culminated in a fundraiser conducted throughout May and June by the District to benefit MSHV. After saying goodbye to the scholarship winners and their families, the midyear district business was conducted. It was a wonderful afternoon, highlighting our scholarship winners and enjoying fellowship with their families. Thank you to all who participated to make this a special event.
